Consultation Terms

These terms apply to online consultations with Shawn Steyn, based in Namibia. For questions about your booking, contact steynshawn@gmail.com.

Your consultation

Your booking includes:

  • A brief review of the information you submit when booking.

  • A 60-minute online consultation via Google Meet, conducted in English.

  • An emailed summary of our discussion and suggested next steps, with helpful resources where applicable.

The consultation focuses on your property, goals and questions, within the time available.

Drawn property plans, mainframe designs, site visits and ongoing support are not included. These can be discussed and agreed separately.

Booking and payment

Appointments are booked through Cal.com, with payment processed by Stripe. The price and currency are displayed before you complete payment.

Please check the date, time and time zone carefully, and provide an accurate email address so you can receive your confirmation and meeting link.

Preparing for your call

Please complete the booking questions with relevant information about your property and what you would like to discuss.

You will need a working internet connection and a device suitable for a Google Meet video call. Please join at your scheduled start time.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Subject to any applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights:

  • Client cancellations: Bookings are non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling: You may reschedule free of charge at least 24 hours before your appointment. Use the rescheduling link in your booking confirmation, or email me before that deadline.

  • Changes within 24 hours: Your appointment cannot be transferred to another time. A new paid booking is required.

  • Missed appointments: No refund is provided. A new paid booking is required for another session.

  • If Shawn Steyn cancels: You will receive a 100% refund.

Scope of advice

Consultations provide guidance on permaculture planning and productive systems for gardens, food forests and homesteads. Advice is based on the information you provide and the limits of a remote discussion.

A consultation does not include a site survey, engineering assessment, construction drawings or confirmation of regulatory approval.

Before undertaking work involving dams, significant earthworks, structures or other regulated activities, obtain the necessary local assessments, specialist advice and permissions.

Recommendations depend on site conditions, implementation, climate and management. Specific yields, financial returns or ecological outcomes are not guaranteed.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, including any mandatory cancellation, refund or service-quality rights.
